Lars and the Real Girl
So I worked exit polls for Lars and the Real Girl last night. The movie
itself was really good. Just more proof that Time Out's movie critic is
a bit of an idiot. It was a bit funny to see all these old men and
women turning up to see it. It really didn't seem like a blue blood
movie to me. Even one woman said "This is a downtown movie. It doesn't
belong in the Paris. It belongs in the Angelika!"
Everyone seemed to like it a lot. Considering that the premise is, on the surface, two dimensional, I was really surprised at how well it was carried throughout the movie. It didn't feel old or stale at any moment. It's just a good light hearted romantic comedy. About a sex doll.
If you get a chance to see it, I'd definitely recommend it.
